Speech Team Preview

When winter activities kick off their seasons, Pierce High’s speech team is starting their season also. With 30 members, the largest roster the team has seen in years, the season looks bright. “I am very excited for this upcoming season. We should be seeing a lot of strong competition, and I’m looking forward to seeing our team grow,” senior Emma Risinger comments.
Returning letterwinners include seniors Noah Jones, Emma Risinger, Amber Shefl and Ashley Wacker. Juniors returning letterwinners are Amelia Ahlers, Hadleigh Collison, Nickolas Efta, Chelsey Ottis and Alexis Sporleder. Sophomore returning letterwinners include Lillian Blank, Mya Johnson and Carl Vogt.
“We are a very young team, lots of new faces this year," head coach Amy Nelson comments. "While this makes me so excited to see our team grow, I also know it will be a big learning curve for our team at competitions. I hope that everyone can find an event they can excel in and throughout the season we can see some medal and placing growth. It will be a great season!”
