The Bluejays Perform Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb at District One Act
By Skyler Stern
Wrapping up the season, the Bluejays traveled to Schuyler for district one act on Saturday December 6. Eight teams competed total with the Bluejays placing seventh. If Pierce had not gone over time they would have gotten fifth place. The play the Bluejays had performed was Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb by Craig Sodaro.
“I enjoy coaching one-act because it gives the opportunity to create a world from nothing and gives the kids an opportunity to let their creativity run wild,” Brock Bretschneider, the director for one act, states,
Outstanding performers for the Bluejays were Elizabeth Fursteanau, Mya Johnson, Lillian Blank, Isabelle Streff, Spencer Sindt, Addison Frye, Jayna Prochaska, and Lauren Delka.
“You should go out for one act because you are not forced to do anything you don’t want to do and you get to choose your role,” Jax Bauer, a senior, says.
“I encourage everyone to give one act a try because it's a good way to step out of your comfort zone and try something new,” another senior, Cameron Kuehler, states.
