Pride of the Bluejays Marches their Way into a Superior

On Saturday, October 21, the Pierce High marching band performed the final performance of their field show in Kearney for the Nebraska State Bandmasters Association (NSBA) contest.
To kick off the day, the band left Pierce at 12 p.m. and arrived at Kearney High School at 3:45. At 5:30 Pierce was in their uniforms and had started to perform.
After the band's performance, the group had pictures around 5:45, which people will be able to purchase online.
To end off the marching band season, awards were at 6:15. Pierce got awarded with a division one, superior, in class B1, which is the highest rating a team can get. There is also division two, excellent, division three, good, division four, fair, and lastly, division five, poor.
“It was a great end to our marching band season,” says senior drum major Peyton Wieting. “Over the past 3 weeks we have been making tiny improvements in order to make state our best performance yet. I am proud of the whole band and how they’ve performed all year.”
The band presented, The Beatles, starring, “I saw her standing there,” “Blackbird/Yesterday,” “Come Together,” and last but not least, “Hey Jude.”
Band director Michael Sindt says, “Our band performed our best show all season, and it was a good way to honor the seniors throughout the season.”
