New Students at PHS
Max Weber; Ninth Grade Sensation and Video Game Enthusiast

Maxwell Weber is 14 years old and is a new ninth grade student here at Pierce High School.
He has divorced parents so he lives with both parents, but in separate houses. He has a little sister who is nine years old, and a little brother who is 13 years old. Weber turns 15 this October. At his mom’s house he lives with two cats and two dogs. At his dad’s house he has one dog and five cats.
Weber will be doing only cross country for his extracurricular activities. When asked about if he enjoys it he answered, “ Yes, I enjoy cross country, and [I am] looking forward to cross country meets in the future.” Weber says he also looks forward to improving his cross country skills and enjoys spending time with his friends he has made from cross country.
His family moved from Plainview to Pierce. Weber said that he liked Plainview but is glad he got the opportunity to come here to Pierce, because he thinks Pierce is bigger and better. He says that his first few weeks here at Pierce are great, and that he’s getting it all figured out. Weber says his favorite class so far is choir, and that he enjoys choir very much and is looking forward to all the exciting things choir class is going to do this year.
Weber is interested in playing video games whenever he has free time. He says one of his favorite games to play is Fortnite. “I like Fortnite because I find it exciting, I like challenges, and I enjoy working on my strategy and techniques,” Weber says. Weber also loves to go hiking and exploring outside.

Pierce Welcomes Texan Eighth Grader: Nicholas Fisher

Nicholas Fisher moved from San Antonio, Texas, to become a Bluejay eighth grader.
Fisher has one brother Elijah. His dad is Nicholas and his mom is Penny.
He has two barn cats, Smokey and Bandit.
His favorite class this semester is physical education. Fisher is interested in basketball and soccer.
Three subjects Fisher wants to improve on are math, English and science. Science is the hardest subject so far for Fisher because they are learning about speed.
“I like to read my comic books,” replies Fisher when asked about his activities in free time. “My goals that I want to accomplish are I want to know more, study more, and take notes.”
One thing that Fisher is looking forward to doing now that he lives in Nebraska is going to the Lego club in Omaha.

Tyler Oliveria New Student

Pierce High school welcomes new student Tyler Oliveria, who is an eighth grader this year.
Oliveria moved to Pierce with his brother, Tristan, and his parents, Diana and Drew. Before moving to Pierce, Oliveria lived in Oklahoma for the majority of his life.
In his free time, Oliveria enjoys hanging out with his family and playing video games.
When asked what he likes most about Pierce, he says, “It's fun and the students are really nice.”
Oliveria does not have plans to participate in any extracurricular activities this year.
He also added that it is a big change going from big school in Oklahoma to a small town like Pierce.
Blaine Anson; Eighth Grader Thriving in the World of Technology and Cross Country

Blaine Anson is a new eighth grader at Pierce Jr. Sr. High School.
He has a brother and sister, and a mom and a dad so he lives in a family of five. He also has two dogs now, he previously had two cats but they are now dead. Anson’s family previously lived in Lincoln, but moved here to Pierce when Anson was three years old to try something new and his extended family is originally from Pierce. He previously attended Zion, but went here to Pierce in eighth grade for a new experience.
His extracurricular activities this year are cross country this fall, basketball for winter and at the end of the year he will do track. Anson says he enjoys cross country, and looks forward to everything they will do this fall. He also says he looks forward to winter, and to get started on basketball season.
Anson said he enjoyed his first few weeks here at Pierce. “It was a pretty fun first week, and everything went as planned,” he answered when asked if he enjoyed his first week. He got himself some friends during his first week and is now settled in and ready for the upcoming weeks of this semester.
He says his favorite class so far is English, he finds English less challenging because they ran eighth grade English instead of seventh grade English in his seventh grade year. “It’s easy I think because we are redoing what we did in English last year,” says Anson.
Anson’s biggest interest is technology. “I find technology fascinating, and I really enjoy computers and technology builds.”
