Pierce girls golf team swung on through the Battle Creek golf course at the Pierce Golf Invite on Saturday, Sept. 9, with one medalist.
Riley Altwine placed fifth with a 91, not far behind Ashley Wacker ended 21st with hitting 109. Peyton Wieting ended with a 118, Veronica Orona had a 120, and last but not least Grace Behmer had a 126.
For the Pierce JV, Brailey Jensen finished with a score of 153 and Addison Frye with a 166.
As a whole, Pierce girls golf placed fifth with a 438.
“It was challenging with the native grass,” replies Wieting. “We’re not used to that in Pierce.”
If there was anything she could improve on, Wieting responds, “It’s really a mindset game, after a bad shot you have to let it go and try your best on the next one.” Wieting believes “it would have been better if it was on the Pierce golf course, for Evergreen Hill, I think we played decent.”
The golf team is back on the links on Thursday, Sept. 14, in a triangular at Cedar Catholic.
