Bluejays Shut Out the Shamrocks

By Peyton Kruntorad

On Tuesday, Sept. 5, the Bluejays journeyed to Columbus to face the Shamrocks in a JV football thriller, and as a result of the hard work and dedication, the Bluejays battled their way to a 22-0 victory.

In the first half, the Bluejays put up 14 points, and held the Shamrocks to zero points.

Moving into the second half, Pierce put up eight more points, and Scotus was still scoreless.

Scoring two touchdowns for the Bluejays was Colter Anderson. Turner Wolfe punched it in for one touchdown. Peyton Kruntorad and Payton Cederburg each scored a 2-point conversion.

Dayton Watts also came down with an interception.

Head jv coach Grant Doerr states, “For being the first jv game, I thought the boys played well.  They played hard and were able to execute the offense. We hadn't spent a lot of time on defense so it was good to see them get better throughout the game.”

“We came out strong in the first half and held them to zero points,” junior Chase Rasmussen, a running back, states. “Overall we played really good defense and made some good plays offensively.”

The jv football team will host Battle Creek Monday, September 18, starting at 5 p.m.
