Lady Jays Soar to Victory: Dominant Performance Leads to Win Against North Bend in Thrilling Volleyball Matchup

By Nils Rostad

Tuesday, Aug. 29, the Lady Jays met North Bend at Pierce High School for a thrilling game of volleyball and won all of the sets, 3-0, against North Bend. The Lady Jays, who also won their first game of the season, are now on a two game win streak.

The first set's score was 25-17.

In the second set, the Lady Jays had more control and won the set 25-10.

However in the last set of the match they went back to their old form and won the third and final set 25-17 again.

Senior Maggie Painter had the most digs with a total of 14, followed by Jaya Wachholtz and Nora Herian picking up 11 each.

Wachholtz recorded the most kills for the Lady Jays with 12, followed by Herian with eight. Claudia Riggert got herself six kills, while Abigail Cone had four kills and Natalie Kosch managed to get one kill.

Skylar Scholting assisted 28 times during Tuesday's game vs North Bend.

Due to North Bend only having a limited number of players, only five sets were played between the JV and freshman. The freshmen won the first two sets, and the JV finished 2-1.

With a 100% win rate this season and an ongoing winning streak of two, the Lady Jays are looking forward and focusing on their next games, which will be at the Wakefield tournament on Thursday and Saturday.
