Starting New Traditions with FFA Career Builder Event

By Brielle Unseld

Pierce FFA chapter is hosting the first annual Career Builder event on March 16 (Postponed to March 21) with a social beginning at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow. The mission of FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.

FFA advisor Matt Neal remarks, “It was difficult to hear that we would have to eliminate one of our traditions that has been going on for the last 50 years, but it also has provided an opportunity to connect with students with family and friends, and with the community and ag business throughout the region.”

This event allows students to meet and interact not only with students’ families and friends but also with businesses from our community and surrounding towns. Students are given the opportunity to form partnerships to gain valuable work-based learning experiences.

FFA president Haiden Magnussen states, “This is our first year putting this event together, so I’m excited to see how it moves forward in the future, and I’m really excited to be the first team to host. It’s special because it provides a new opportunity for FFA members to find potential careers.”

The Pierce FFA chapter is very excited to be able to start connecting students with all their various careers.
