Best Places to Sleep at School
By Raegan Theisen
As many of the students and staff at Pierce High School know, Pierce High’s principal, Mark Brahmer, occasionally stays overnight at our school.
Brahmer was asked where his most common place to sleep at school was and he responded, “Every Friday night I sleep in my office right next to my desk, on the floor.”
When asked why he would stay at the school instead of just driving home, he said, “Well, it’s around 5 a.m. when I get done with my work, and I wake up at 7 a.m. So, there really would be no point in going home to sleep for 2 hours. I think of it more as a nap.”
While staying at school late, Brahmer works on extracurricular items. “During the fall,” he says, “95% of the work done for football is completed over the weekends. So this requires me to stay overnight and make sure the work is completed. Although, sometimes I do work on scouting reports during the lunch periods on my high rolling desk.”
As one can see from Brahmer’s hard work, it takes a lot of time and dedication to fulfill the roles and responsibilities of our principal and head football coach.
