JH/HS Choir Concert
by Trina Wetzel
On Thursday, March 3, at the High School, the junior high and high school choir sang away at their spring concert.
Amy Barnhill, Pierce’s Elementary and High School choir director, commented on the junior high’s performance saying, “It's a smaller group but I think they are doing a really good job, I just wish they would come out of their shell more. Overall we have some good singers!”
The junior high performed 4 songs. Those songs were “Cruisin For a Bruisin,” “Distant Shore,” “Guitar Man,” and “Bang on the Drum All Day”.
Junior high choir member, Alanna McKeown, was asked her favorite song they performed and why, she said, “I liked “Cruisin For A Bruisin” because it was more upbeat!”
Moving onto the high school part of the concert, Barnhill commented, “They had powerful sound, and I see a lot of confidence and leadership, they did an excellent job!”.
The high school also sang four songs by the names of “Irish Blessing,” “Catch the Spirit,” “Mango Walk,” and “Rockin Robin.”
When high school choir member, Veronica Orona, was asked what her favorite part of the concert was, she stated, “Singing “Rockin Robin,” and getting to have fun with that song!”
