Pierce Takes on the Storm in West Point
By Kolten Wragge
Two teams traveled to West Point to compete in the annual Mid-State conference quiz bowl.
The freshman/sophomore team, consisting of Kolten Wragge, Jada Johnson, Meredith Krienert, Brody Scholting, Eleanor Bauermeister, and Lydia Cone finished in fourth.
“I think that we did very well, everyone had their topic that they were better at, and I think that our team paired very well,” Wragge says.
The junior/senior team consisted of Abigail Cone, Mya Johnson, Colter Anderson, Christian Nordby, and Rylee Altwine. All of the PHS juniors were reviewing for the ACT, so they were unable to attend the event.
“I enjoy quiz bowl days because you see what kind of random knowledge kids have in many topics, and no matter win or lose, we always walk away knowing more than when we started,” Sponsor Crys Bauermeister said.
The senior team finished the day without placing, but they did learn lots more.
Overall, the quiz bowl teams made the trip on March 23 to West Point worthwhile.
