Boys Track Competes at Boone

The boys track team competed at the Boone Central Invitational on April 14, and they finished in third place with 90 points overall.

In the 200-meter dash, Gavin Lubischer placed fifth, running a time of 23.96.

Brenden Bolling placed fourth in the 400 with a final time of 52.25.

Bolling also competed in the 800-meter run, where he finished first with a time of 1:57.98.

Next in the mile, Bolling and Kendall Shada went one and two. Bolling ended up with a 4:53.94, giving him gold, and Shada was right behind with a 4:55.13.

For the 3200, Shada finished in second with a time of 10:34.20 

Ryder Theisen ended with a 15.75 in the 110-meter hurdles, earning him fourth.

Theisen and Parker Gaes both placed in the 300-meter hurdles. Theisen finished as runner-up with a 41.77 while Gaes ran a 43.67, giving him sixth. 

On the field event side of things, Ethan Nordby placed sixth in shot put, throwing a 44-00.75.

For discus, Keaton Frazier finished in second, throwing a 136-06.

Gaes also placed in the high jump with a 6-02, earning him third.

“I enjoy the support I get from fans and friends, which helped me get a new personal best,” Gaes stated. 

In the long jump, Theisen obtained another medal, jumping a 20-10, giving him the gold. 

Theisen also competed in the triple jump, finishing in second place, with a jump of 42-09.50.

For the highlight of the meet, Hayden Bauer, Frazier, Burkley Collison, and Ethan Nordby competed in the throwers relay. They ended up winning with a time of 49.05 seconds.

Also placing in their relay was the 4x100 team who consisted of Konnar Jones, Gavin Lubischer, Aiden Pospisil, and Colter Anderson. They ended with a time of 45.79, earning them sixth.

Lastly was the 4x400, which also finished in sixth. On this relay were Jones, Bauer, Gaes, and Bolling, and their final time was 3:45.47.

The Bluejays will compete next at their home meet on Thursday, April 23, so come and support.
