Dare to Watch the All School Play

By Meredith Krienert

In less than two weeks, the curtains will open for a jaw-dropping performance of the All School Play: Scream If You’re a Survivor, which will be held on April 10 and 11 at the auditorium. The dress rehearsal will take place at 1:00 on April 9 for the Pierce high school students. The evening performances on April 10 and 11 will both take place at 7.

Several senior and junior high students have been putting a great effort into the production. The play Scream If You’re a Survivor will follow the lead characters Tiffany played by Elizabeth Furstenau, Colter Anderson as Dan, Boston Krueger as Brad, and playing the role of Lisa is Mya Johnson.

“If I had to describe the cast in one word, I would say diverse. We have a large group coming from many different groups of the school, some with a lot of experience, some performing for the first time. Overall, they are blending well and doing a great job,” Brock Bretschnieder, the all school play sponsor said.

These four characters make their way through a haunted house, trapped when a masked killer begins targeting them. As panic spreads, the characters, each fitting classic stereotypes, turn on each other and try to figure out who the murderer is. Secrets are uncovered, and alliances are ruined as the group fights to survive the creepy house. In the end, the killer’s identity is revealed in a surprising final twist!

“We have almost 80 people on the cast and crew this year, ranging from 7th to 12th grade. Having new and old faces in the auditorium creates a new and improved atmosphere each year. We hope the play creates lots of laughs, and people enjoy the show,”  Furstenau commented.

The students of Pierce High have put forth a great effort to make this an entertaining experience for all audiences. The all school play is a great chance to see some of our outstanding talent and support the Bluejays!
