SKA Holds Parents Night Out

By Brianna Rundell

Pierce High Secret Kindness Agents (SKA) held yet another parents' night out, where parents could drop off their children for the SKA members to watch for a few hours.

The event ran from 6-9 p.m. at the Pierce Elementary School on Friday, November 21, and was supervised by the Secret Kindness Agents.

“It was more organized because last year was our first year, so it was definitely more organized this year because we learned a few things from last year. We did not quite have the attendance like we did last year–last year we had over 100 kids and this year we had 53 but it was a good time,” SKA advisor Amy Specht said.

The night began with kids showing up and being led to their group table to begin coloring. After that, the group held a short dance party for the students. When the dancing was finished, all the kids settled in for a movie called "Arthur's Christmas.”

“Parents night out was a really fun experience for the kids and the SKA members,” SKA president Alanna Mckeown said.

Partway through the movie, Santa came to visit the kids and give them a small goodie bag to take home and take pictures with each of them.

Once Santa was gone, the kids returned to the movie. Parents came throughout the last part of the evening to pick up their children.

SKA will host another parents night out on Friday, February 13.
