Girls Compete at The Tom Martin Invite

The girls track team stayed home, hosted, and dominated at the Tom Martin Memorial/Wausa Invite. They placed first with 116 points, despite the rainy afternoon conditions.
“The girls competed well, they broke the meet record in the 4x800 and overall the team won by over 50 points. I feel like getting close to the end of the season, we are hitting our stride and ready to compete in districts in a couple weeks,” Les Painter, head coach, says.
In the 100-meter hurdles Skylar Scholting placed fourth with a time of 16.86.
S. Scholting also competed in the 300-meter hurdles, placing second, and finished with a time of 49.34.
Moving on to the 400-meter dash, Aislyn Moeller had a time of 1:02.13 which helped her end in second place. Emily Endorf placed sixth with a time of 1:06.84.
In the 800-meter race, Hadleigh Collison placed first with a time of 2:26.41, while Haley Scholting placed second with a time of 2:38.00.
Zoey Ebmeier placed fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:03.95.
In the two mile, Ebmeier ran a 13:03.95 which earned her first place. Isabelle Kuehler ran a 14:32.47, placing sixth.
Moeller, Abigail Cone, S. Scholting, and Collison placed first in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:11.13.
The 4x800 meter relay team, consisting of Moeller, Cone, H. Scholting, and Collison also placed first, running a time of 10:14.79.
In discus, three girls placed. Jessa Kraft grabbed first with a throw of 112-04, Kylie Dvorak placed second with a throw of 109-10, and Raleigh Pfeiffer placed fifth with a throw of 97-09.
Pfeiffer placed second in shot put with a throw of 35-08. Dvorak placed fifth, throwing 33-00.50. Kraft placed sixth with a throw of 32-10.50.
“The kids competed hard and are ready to compete in the conference track meet,” assistant coach Kaleb Anderson comments.
Claudia Riggert placed fifth in high jump with a jump of 4-06.
In the triple jump, Endorf placed sixth, jumping 30-04.75.
Placing third in long jump, Natalie Kosch jumped 15-02.50. Endorf jumped 15-00.50, placing fifth.
The girls track team will travel to O’Neill for the Mid-State track meet on Saturday, May 3.
