Golfers Swing Away at O’Neill
By Rylee Altwine
The JV boys took on the O’Neill golf course on Wednesday, April 23.
“The boys became more resilient at the O’Neill Invite. Many of them did not have the best day of golf, but they worked through those types of shots and gained valuable experience. Moving forward, they know what they need to work on both physically and mentally to get better. Overall, it was a struggle, but struggle makes you better, and the boys are going to get better because of it,” assistant coach Jason Freudenburg stated.
Starting off, sophomore Brayden Lambrecht shot a 126, and falling one shot behind Lambrecht was junior Alexzander Weinrich with a 127.
Freshman Charlie Ottis scored a 131, as did junior Skylar Stern.
“I had a lot of fun golfing Wednesday. I need to improve on my putting and take my time reading putts. One club that was working was my driver. I will definitely look forward to seeing how I improve over this season,” Ottis stated.
Lastly, freshman Korbin Gordon had a 157.
Having much to improve on, the golfers will compete again as Pierce hosts an invitational on Saturday, May 3, at the Pierce community golf course.
