One Act Receives Sixth at DistrictsÂ
By Elizabeth Furstenau
The one act cast and crew have wrapped up their season. On December 4, the one act members took a trip to West Point to perform at the Nielsen Center for the B4 district contest, where they competed against eight other schools and received sixth place.
Each competition gives out outstanding performance awards to a few members from each group. Aubrey Hanson, Mya Johnson, Elizabeth Furstenau, Lauren Delka, and Elliot Vanness each received this award for their individual performance.
“I felt like I performed well,” Vanness claims. “My first year in one act was good. I really enjoyed it, and I had a lot of fun.”
“Overall, the season went extremely well. The cast and crew members took on a challenging script and worked together to put together a fun and hilarious play. Our seasoned actors also had the challenge of working with our newer cast members and helping them foster their acting abilities,” head director Brock Bretschneider states. “Right now we have a great mix of seasoned actors and new talent. Our hope for next year is to help all of them grow stronger and excel where they are at so that they can continue to grow and put on great shows.”
