Bluejays Wipe Wayne

The Bluejays played the Wayne Blue Devils for their homecoming where they came out with a victory 41-21, on October 11.
In the first quarter, the Bluejays came out hot, scoring two touchdowns both by Turner Wolfe who also made both PAT kicks to make the score 14-0.
“The whole team brought the energy that we needed and the offensive line maintained their blocks till the whistle. It feels great to be back on track, now we have to focus on what is next and have a great week of practice to keep rolling,” Wolfe, a senior, says.
The offensive leaders were Wolfe with 127 rushing yards, Kruntorad with 88, and Bolling with 83.
Coming into the second quarter, Wayne was able to add a touchdown and a good kick and so did the Bluejays with a nice run from Brenden Bolling and a good PAT from Wolfe making the score 21-7 before halftime with Pierce in the lead.
“I think I had a good game, there is always something to improve on,” Bolling, a junior, states. “The whole team did a good job, and we needed this win as motivation.”
Bolling had another touchdown run in the third quarter to make the score 27-7. Colter Anderson and Peyton Kruntorad both had runs to score touchdowns with good kicks from Wolfe. Wayne was only able to score two more touchdowns, making the final score 41-21.
Defensive leaders included Gavin Lubischer with five solo tackles, Bolling and Cole DeBoer with four.
The Bluejays are on the road Friday, October 18, as they head to Lakeview for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
