Pierce Pre-Contest Recital
by Claudia Riggert
Pierce High School band and choir held a pre-contest recital on Tuesday, April 16. This recital allowed the solos and small groups who are participating in the district music contest to practice in a pressured environment before the competitions on Friday.
“It went better than I thought it would. It helped me feel better about Friday” junior band participant Amelia Alhers states.
The recital began with the band including seven duets, 14 solos, one clarinet quartet, and the Dixieland band.
Finishing off with the choir, they performed seven solos, along with three duets.
Pierce Band director, Michael Sindt, comments, "The students did a great job showcasing their talents and skills this year. This is the most entries that Pierce has had for district music contest, and this recital gives the students a chance to get a public performance under their belt."
District music contest took place at the Johnny Carson Theater on Friday, April 19.
