Bluejays Dominate Eagles

By Kaden Froehlich

On Friday, September 9, the Pierce Bluejays hosted a game with the Arlington Eagles and put on a powerful performance winning, 68-14.

In the first quarter, the Bluejays played electric on offense and defense, securing five first quarter touchdowns plus a successful point after attempt for each, and allowing zero touchdowns for the Eagles.

The second quarter continued to be dominated by the Jays as they tacked on another three touchdowns, all but one of which was followed by a successful extra point kick. Defensively the Jays continued to overpower the Eagles, still holding them to zero points. Going into halftime the score was 55-0.

Coming out of the half, the Bluejays defensively faltered slightly allowing a touchdown, but the Jays quickly responded with a touchdown of their own. The Eagles again fought hard scoring before the third quarter ended making the score 62-14 at the end of the third quarter.

To end the game, the Jays added a final touchdown to their score making the final score of the game 68-14.

Throughout the game, senior Benjamin Brahmer scored three touchdowns. Along with Brahmer, seniors Jacksen Wachholtz, Colby Anderson, Addison Croghan, junior Keenan Valverde, sophomore Benjamin Bolling, and freshman Draydin Gossman all scored one touchdown. Defensively Tristan Kuehler and Gavin Sullivan each had three solo tackles. Brahmer also forced one fumble.

Head coach Mark Brahmer stated, “I was quite pleased with the progress we made in practice last week which led to our positive performance on Friday evening against Arlington. Steadily, we are becoming a good practice team. Teams who prepare and practice at a high level also play at a high level.:

You can catch the Bluejays September 16 at home against Omaha Roncalli.
