Six high school students participated in the ESU 8 Quiz Bowl competition in Neligh on Wednesday, March 27. The six students who competed were Micah Bahnfleth, Autumn Baumann, Aaron Hanlin, Charlie Krueger, Caleb Lohrberg, and Austin Unseld. Mrs. Crys Bauremeister sponsored the Pierce High’s quiz bowl teams.
The quiz bowl competition involved many other ESU 8 schools including Pierce. The schools were drawn at random and placed in brackets, and then the competition began.
Pierce’s first round was against Battle Creek. The question categories varied from literature and history to math, science, and current events. Unfortunately, Pierce lost in their first round, so they were finished for the day.
The next quiz bowl competition is during the NECC Academic Contest & Quiz Bowl on Monday, April 15.
