New Staff at PHS

New Staff Profile: Zach Weber

Pierce High is happy to welcome a new member to their staff. Zach Weber is a new English teacher in the PHS building.

Weber is originally from Weeping Water, Nebraska, and is a recent graduate from Midland University. Weber’s family includes his parents and his two brothers. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, basketball, and reading. His interests also include sports.

This year at PHS, Weber will be teaching English 8, applied communications, reading, and 8th grade writing prep. Weber will also be assistant coaching girls’ softball, boys’ basketball, and boys’ golf.

Weber says he is most looking forward to “getting to know my students and players.”

 

New Staff Profile: Jared Garthoff

Pierce High School recently welcomed Jared Garthoff, a student teacher from Wayne State College. Garthoff will be working with the band students and supervised by PHS’s band director, Mr. Mike Sindt.

Garthoff is originally from Early, Iowa. Garthoff’s family includes his mother, father, stepmother, one brother, one sister, and one stepsister. In his free time, Garthoff likes reading, cooking, baking, writing music, and playing in a rock band with friend’s from Wayne State.

Garthoff’s degree from WSC is kindergarten through 12th grade music, but he said he looks forward to “getting into the field I really want to: high school band.”

 

New Staff Profile: Dustie White

Pierce High has a new staff addition in the lunch program, Mrs. Dustie White, who will be working as a cook in the high school’s cafeteria area.

Mrs. White is originally from Norfolk. She has three children: Dillon, Dalton, and Destyne White. She also has three grandchildren: Easton, Rementon, and Nova. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

She originally worked at HyVee before she came to Pierce High School to work in the kitchen. What she is most looking forward to at Pierce High is getting to know the students.

“Live today because you don’t know what tomorrow might bring,” said Mrs. White

 

New Staff Profile: Candace Stickman

Pierce High welcomed Candace Stickman to their high school staff as a van driver for the 2015 school year.

In addition to being employed at Pierce Public Schools, Stickman is currently working on getting her bachelor's degree in psychology at Northeast Community College.

Stickman says she is excited to work at PHS because she says it’s a “different atmosphere” than she is used to.

Stickman has three children, two girls and a boy. She enjoys horseback riding, making jewelry, and reading in her free time.
