All-School Assigns Roles for Beauty and the Beast

by Rose Graham

The all-school play directors and cast have begun preparing for the debut of their show, Beauty and the Beast.

This play brings many challenges and many exciting moments for the cast and crew. Director Misti Halsey said, “Hands down, learning the music and dance numbers,” will be the biggest challenge facing the cast. “It always takes hard work and dedication on the part of the kids, but they never disappoint. It always turns out amazing!”

The directors have announced the roles for the upcoming musical. The student director is Addison Johnson. The old beggar woman/enchantress will be played by Madisyn Hamm. Rose Graham will be the lead role playing Belle. Trevor Voecks will be playing Maurice. Zachary Price is playing Gaston. Madison Altwine will be playing Lefou. Noah Jones will be playing Monsieur D’Arque. Elijah Jones will be playing Cogsworth. Shawn Zellmer will be playing Lumiere. Chloey Cederburg will be playing Babette. Rachel Fenton will be playing Mrs.Potts. Sara Thomsen will be playing Chip. Alexandria Vavra will be playing Madam De La Grande Bouche. Peter Halsey will be playing the lead male role, the Beast. Noah Jones, Madisyn Hamm, Zane Mckeown, Kelly Mckeown, Shayde Semm, Angel Heisinger, and Candace Clausen will all be playing various roles in the ensemble. Kira Vavra, Garett Riedel, and Shailyn Harris will be the crew members.

“I think the challenging part of this production is the scale of it. The set alone is probably the biggest ever put on for a production at Pierce High,” said director Andrew Halsey. “It's also a well-known show and a Disney classic, so the students have a lot of work to do, but I know they will be able to put on a great show!”

The all-school will put on their production April 5 and 6 at 7 p.m. at the Pierce Auditorium.
