Pierce High’s student council held their annual fall meeting/picnic on Thursday, August 24. This meeting is used each year to get the staff together and talk about events that the student council will hold the upcoming year and to get everyone the same page about information.

Some of the things that the group was hoping to get out of this meeting were to meet new members and discuss what activities each member could be part of throughout this year. They also went over the Student Council Constitution so that everyone would be aware of the rules and the purpose of being a part of student council.

Officers were also introduced. For the 2018-19 school year, these include president Kayla Simmons, vice president Janae Arens, secretary Maggie Brahmer, treasurer Carson Oestreich, historian Abbey Sedlacek, and school board rep. Alex McKeown.

“The main goal of the meeting was to get everyone to know each other and brainstorm some activities for the school year,” said student council sponsor Deb Koehlmoos. “We want to involve some new activities for not only the students but also the community of Pierce.”
