USD Hosts Indoor Meet
A handful of Pierce track students made their way to the University of South Dakota to kick off their season at the Dan Lennon Class B meet on Tuesday, March 19.
Pierce took only a few sprinters, throwers, and relays to start the season.
The Dan Lennon meet medals the top five finishers. Bringing home a medal for Pierce was sophomore Abigail Cone in the 800-meter with a time of 2:39.34 for a fifth place finish.
Fellow sophomore Brenden Bolling captured fourth in the boys 1600-meter ending with a time of 4:56.30.
The boys 1600-meter sprint medley team composed of seniors Keenan Valverde, Gavin Sullivan, junior Benjamin Bolling, and Br. Bolling ran a time of 3:54.60 and a third place finish.
In field events, sophomore Ryder Theisen grabbed second in triple jump, leaping 40-03.25 while Sullivan finished right behind him in third, with a 40-02.25 jump.
Sullivan also jumped 20-03 for a fourth place medal in long jump.
The full track team will head to Stanton on Tuesday, March 26.
