Proud to Announce Bluejay Winners for Believers and Achievers Awards

By Autumn Lambrecht

Pierce High School is proud to announce senior Dalton Svoboda as one of the top 48 Believer and Achievers award winners.

High school counselor Danielle Goetsch, and nominator for the award, adds, “Believers and achievers first and foremost is an academic honor and so you’re looking for individuals who exceed the standards through ACT scores and GPA, but also we're looking for students who are involved in a number of activities and do those activities well. In addition, were looking for students who have community involvement and a strong reputation.”

In order qualify for this award, Svoboda had to have a 3.5 or higher GPA, along with receiving academic honors and awards. Another qualification is being involved in school activities such as robotics, FCCLA, speech, student council and National Honor Society. Along with having to meet requirements, Svoboda also had to write an essay made up of 250-300 words.

Svoboda comments by saying, “Honestly it's surreal. It's a great honor to get this award, be a Pierce Bluejay and being surrounded by the great teachers, my great friends, and my parents, they taught me to believe and achieve so I could receive the Believers and Achievers award.”

Brielle Unseld was also a school winner for the local Believers and Achievers Award.
