Meier Recognized for Academic Achievement

Abigail Meier of Pierce High School has been named to the Omaha World-Herald 2021 All Academic Program All West-Central First Team.

Meier was nominated to the 2021 World-Herald Academic program by Mark Brahmer, principal at Pierce High School.

Brahmer says, “Abby is the first student from Pierce High to be recognized as an all-stater in the World-Herald's all state academic team. Abby has always achieved at a high level because of her superior intellect, her attention to detail, and her tireless work ethic. She is arguably one of the best students to have ever attended Pierce High. On top of all that, Abby is also a positive leader and top-notch role model.”

Meier received a certificate of special recognition for her outstanding academic achievement as measured by top-notch test scores and class rank, challenging coursework and noteworthy school involvement.

The All Academic Program traces its roots to 1992 with selection of the first World-Herald All Metro Team. The newspaper followed with an All State Team in 1994.

Each year, every secondary school in Nebraska and western Iowa is invited to nominate its two top-ranked students for recognition. In addition, schools are asked to nominate any other senior who achieved a test score of 32 or better on the ACT or a 1450 or better on the SAT.
