Pierce Believers and Achievers Announced

U.S. Bank and the Nebraska School Activities Association recently announced the 2020-21 Believers and Achievers, and the Pierce winners are Tanner Kuper and Abigail Meier, seniors at Pierce High School. In addition to being the local Pierce winner, Meier has been named to the top 48 recipients of this award. Pierce has not had anyone hold this honor since Kaylee Stuchlik in 2010.

Meier said, “I was pretty surprised” when finding out about being in the top 48 across the state. 

Believers & Achievers is a state-wide program designed by U.S. Bank and the NSAA to give recognition to Nebraska’s future leaders. Beginning in October and continuing through April, 48 Nebraska high school seniors will be honored as Believers & Achievers. From those 48 finalists, eight will receive $500 scholarships from U.S. Bank® to the college or university of their choice at a scholarship banquet to be held on April 25 th , 2021. These students will be recognized via an NSAA social media campaign throughout the 2020-2021 activities year and on a poster sent to all NSAA member schools and U.S. Bank® branches throughout the state. All of the students nominated for the Believers & Achievers awards program represent the very best of Nebraska’s high schools. 

Students are nominated to be Believers and Achievers based on their scholastic achievement, academic honors and awards, NSAA activity participation, school involvement, involvement in school clubs and organizations, support of activities other than those in which s/he participates, show the trait of helping others, community involvement, involvement in community youth organizations, volunteerism in community programs, and showing the trait of helping others.
