Track Athletes Compete at State

Twenty-two PHS track athletes went to Omaha Burke for the state track meet on Friday, May 17, and Saturday, May 18.

For the girls’ team, they scored 12.5 points. The girls who placed at the state meet were Maggie Brahmer, who tied for 4th in high jump with a jump of 5-02.00; the 4X800M relay, which placed 8th with the team of Callie Arnold, Katie Vogt, Payten Simmons, Alexus Sindelar with a time of 10:25.5; Brahmer, who placed 5th in the 110M hurdles with a time of 15.80; and the 4X400M relay team of Katie Vogt, Callie Arnold, Kenzie Moeller, Alexus Sindelar, who placed 6th with a time of 4:11.39.

For the boys’ team, they scored seven points. The boys who placed were Gavin Larson in triple jump placing 6th with a jump of 44-07.00 and Mason Sindelar placing 5th with a time of 2:00.36 in his 800M run.

Head coach Tim Waldner commented on the state meet as a whole saying, “For the most part, we had a pretty solid meet. Half the kids had PRs, and the other half weren’t too far off. It's just a tough meet to go down to.” Waldner commented on the season as a whole saying, “I loved the season. I loved the competitiveness, and I loved the depth we had.”
