The Pierce speech team traveled to Wausa on Saturday, February 9. The varsity were champions, and JV finished 3rd out of 13 teams competing at this meet.
For the varsity, Janae Arens placed 1st in humorous prose. Halle Ross placed 1st in serious prose. Sydney Erickson placed 2nd in poetry. Abygail Streff placed 3rd in poetry. Dylan Delka placed 3rd in entertainment speaking. Kiley Bierman and Halle Ross placed 4th in duet acting. Mark Venteicher placed 4th in extemporaneous speaking. Maiya Baumann placed 4th in humorous prose. The OID of Dylan Delka, Katrina Meier, Janae Arens, Mark Venteicher and Macie Timm placed 4th. Elizabeth Harris placed 4th in serious prose. Hailey Abler placed 4th in persuasive speaking. Caydan Retzlaff placed 5th in extemporaneous speaking. Tanner Kuper placed 5th in persuasive speaking. Emilia Goetsch placed 6th in entertainment speaking. Klarissa Norris placed 6th in informative speaking. Shelby White placed 6th in persuasive speaking.
For the JV, Madisyn Hamm and Aundrea Huber placed 2nd in duet acting. Shawn Zellmer placed 2nd in extemporaneous speaking. Zachary Price placed 3rd in poetry and 6th in entertainment speaking. Katie Vogt placed 3rd in persuasive speaking. Alle Koehler placed 6th in serious prose.
The speech team’s next meet is Saturday, February 16, at Battle Creek.
