Bluejay Wrestlers Finish 3rd At Boone Central

The Pierce wrestling team placed 3rd with 130 points in a 15 team tournament. The meet was held at Boone Central on Saturday, January 26.

Individually, Ryder Fuchs and Michael Kruntorad placed 1st;  Mason Sedlacek, Jaden Jones, Aiden Gnat, Dustin Jensen, and Nick Erickson placed 2nd; Brock Bolling, Jeremiah Kruntorad Devin Graae, and Travis Jensen placed 3rd; Carter Jensen and Tim Windheuser placed 4th; Ashton Schweitzer, Brett Tinker, and Dylan Kuehler placed 5th; Isaiah Adams placed 6th.

Starting at 106, Brock Bolling won over Hunter Vandenberg from Aquinas Catholic and Gavin Dozler from Boone Central/Newman Grove. Bolling lost to Ty Rainforth from O’Neill and Michael K. Colling from Omaha Westside.

At 113, Isaiah Adams lost to Ethan Lawrence from Kearney, Hunter Stutzman from Aquinas Catholic, Jagger Sell from Kearney, Brock Kester from Neligh-Oakdale, and Javier Marino from High Plains Community. Also at 113, Devin Graae defeated Jamie E. Kim from Omaha Westside and lost to Andon Stenger from Columbus and Cole Schroer from Kearney.

At 120, Ethan Dohmen lost to Brock Broweleit from Kearney and Adam Miller from Elkhorn Valley.

At 126, Carter Jensen defeated Cisco Rivas from Kearney and Hunter Kildow from Bayard. Jensen lost to Cameron Schrad from Aquinas Catholic and Oscar Lopez of O’Neill.

At 132, Jeremiah Kruntorad won over Zach Schweigart from Omaha Westside, Hunter Klinetobe from Elkhorn Valley, again Zack Schweigart, and Tyson Haddix from Boone Central/Newman Grove. Kruntorad was defeated by Christopher Nickolite from Aquinas Catholic. Also at 132, Mason Sedlacek beat Isaac Halbgewachs Nebraska Christian and Zach Solomon from Kearney. Sedlacek was defeated by Fabian Acevado from O’Neill.

At 145, Ashton Schweitzer defeated Grant Burbach from Malcolm and Logan Helgoth from Aquinas Catholic. Schweitzer lost to Prestin Vondra from Elkhorn Valley and Kaden Bonner from Kearney. Also at 145, Jaden Jones defeated Cody Kaczor from Nebraska Christian and lost to Dayethan Nelson from Kearney.

At 152, Tim Windheuser defeated Jaxon Ondracek from Aquinas Catholic and lost to Drew Loosvelt from Columbus, Jordan Williams from Columbus, and Soni Hiner from Omaha Westside. Also at 152, Aiden Gnat beat Aidan Blankenship from St. Paul, Cale Schwer from Guardian Angels Central Catholic, and Enmanuel Aleman from Columbus. Gnat was defeated by Dylan Welsh from Kearney.

At 160, Brett Tinker defeated Conor Dempsey from Neligh-Oakdale and Ethan Dozler from Boone Central/Newman Grove. Tinker lost to Ethan Dozler the first time they met up, and he also lost to Dylan Soule from High Plains Community.

At 170, Travis Jensen lost to Bryden Peetz from St. Paul and Carter Hogan from Omaha Westside.

At 182, Dustin Jensen lost to Tanner Houser from Kearney.

At 195, Ryder Fuchs defeated Loren Woita from Omaha Westside, Nolan Schultz from Aquinas Catholic, and Haydn Deinert from Malcolm.

At 220, Dylan Kuehler won over Dario Rodriguez from Kearney and Mitchell Peatrowsky from Guardian Angels Central Catholic. Kuehler was defeated by Quincy JG Hogan from Omaha Westside and Nathan Scheer from St Paul. Also at 220, Nick Erickson beat Devin L. Farrish from Omaha Westside, Wade Palmer from Kearney, and Noah Molina from Kearney.  Erickson was defeated by Asher Wedige from Kearney.

Coach Tyler Legate said, ”We didn't wrestle as well as we had the week before, but it’s the time to have a down weekend. We just made some silly mistakes and will have to continue to work this week.”

The Bluejay wrestling team will next compete at Wayne on Thursday, January 31, at Wayne. This will be their Mid-State Conference tournament.
