The Pierce wrestling team competed in the North Bend Central invitational Saturday, December 8. With a team score of 165.5, the Jays finished 4th as a team.
Placing at the invitational, Brock Bolling got 2nd, Carter Jensen got 4th, Ashton Schweitzer got 3rd, Brett Tinker got 2nd, Ryder Fuchs got 1st, and Dylan Kuehler got 3rd.
At 106, Brock Bolling pinned Jocoby Mann of Winside and Ryder Keenan of Loganview. Bolling fell to Julio Reyes of Johnson County Central. At 113, Isaiah Adams defeated Jonah Reed of Freeman, Hunter Stutzman of Aquinas Catholic, and Devin Graae of Pierce JV. Adams fell to Trevor Cooley of Arlington and Cayden Ellis of Winside.
Wrestling unattached at 113, Devin Graae won over Gavin Romshek of Aquinas Catholic and Logan Suarez of Winnebago. Graae fell to Dru Mueller of Logan View and Isaiah Adams of Pierce.

At 132, Jeremiah Kruntorad won by tech fall over Lacy Borer of North Bend Central and pinned Alex Foust of Logan View and Tyler Carlson of Winside. J. Kruntorad fell to Caleb Eggleston of Johnson County Central and Gavin Lampman of Wisner- Pilger.
At 138, Michael Kruntorad pinned Braydn Manning of North Bend Central and Beau Kaup of Logan View. M. Kruntorad fell to Greighton Redler of Aquinas Catholic and Art Escalante of Winside.

Junior High Jays Hit the Mats at Boone Central

The Pierce junior high wrestling team traveled to Boone on Saturday, December 8, for a tournament.
There were no team scores recorded, but individually, Zakary Abler placed 1st with a record of 2-1. Cameron Armitage went 1-2. Jayden Coulter placed 2nd with a record of 2-1. Zach Meier also placed 2nd with a record of 2-1. Blake Bolling went 0-2, and Ashton Koch went 0-2. Colbey Jensen received 1st with a record of 3-0. Zander Schweitzer also received 1st with a record of 3-0.
The last JH wrestling meet was held on Tuesday, December 11.
