Cross Country Runs in Districts

The cross country team traveled to Boone Central for Districts on Thursday, October 11. They came back with three state qualifiers for state. The boys team placed fifth in the boys division.
Sophomore, Mason Sindelar came in first with a time of 15:59. Freshman, Chris Efta placed 27th with a time of 18:14. Not to far behind Junior, Carter Jensen placed 30th with a time of 18:21. Senior, Isaac Lambrecht with a time of 18:31 placed 33rd. Only a few placing behind was freshman, Brock Bolling placed 36 with a time of 18:41. Sophomore, Miles Garcia with a time of 19:07 placed 41st.
Individual freshman, Alexus Sindelar qualified for state by placing second at Districts with a time of 19:17. Also qualified for state was freshman, Callie Arnold placed ninth with a time of 20:28. Sophomore, Bridget Raff had a time 22:43 and placed 30th.
Coach Gary Shada commented, “Overall as a team on the boy’s side was good, but it just that we weren’t fast enough to qualify as a boys’ team.” Shada continued, “Runners for districts were need to be physically ready, but we had too many injuries which don't allow everyone to be at 100%.”
The upcoming meet for the Cross Country team is state on Friday, October 19 in Kearney.
