Coach Marika VonSeggern said, “The girls played one of the best defensive games I've seen in awhile. We fielded the ball well and always had at least two players making an attempt on it. Polk County hit the ball well and hit into gaps. There's not a lot we can do to help that. We just need to continue making an effort and doing what we can. We also hit the ball really well. Unfortunately, they were able to get to all of them. If we continue to hit, we will find holes. I was impressed with the effort all the girls gave this game.”

The Lady Jays’ next game is districts. It will be on Thursday, October 4 at Wayne.
