Blue Jays Blow Away the Shamrocks

 The Bluejays scored another win this last Friday, September 14 in their Homecoming game against Columbus Scotus. The Jays were victorious 59-21.

 In the first quarter, the Shamrocks held the Bluejays from scoring only for Devon Roth to score a 27-yard field goal. Pierce’s defense held strong to end the first quarter with Pierce in the lead 3-0

 In the second quarter, Brett Tinker pushed through for a one-yard touchdown with Roth kicking the extra point. Tinker then scored a 20-yard touchdown with Roth again kicking the extra point. Dalton Freeman then scored a 17-yard touchdown pass to Carson Oestreich and the kick for the extra was no good. Halftime score was 23-7

 In the third quarter, Tinker scored one-yard touchdown. Oestreich passed to Roth for the extra 2 points. Freeman then scored a 54-yard passing touchdown to Gavin Larson with Roth kicking Pierce’s extra point. Dylan Delka scored a 10 yard touchdown and Roth added the PAT. Pierce led at the end of third quarter 45-7.

 In the fourth quarter, Oestreich made a one-yard touchdown with Chaden Roth kicking the extra point. Jeremiah Kruntorad scored a 9-yard touchdown with Roth kicking the extra point.

 Pierce led with 596 rushing yards, 71 passing yards, a 667-yard total. Freeman had 11 carries, 96 rushing yards, 2 of 5 passing for 71 yards, two touchdowns, 3 assisted tackles, and 2 interceptions on defense. Oestreich had 14 carries, 188-yards for two running touchdowns, one catch for a 17-yard receiving touchdown. Tinker had 20 carries for a total of 106 yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, 6 assisted tackles.

 The next football game will be on Friday, September 21, at 7 pm at the Wayne State field.
