by Angelica Volquardsen

The Lady Jays traveled to Wayne on Thursday, September 21, to compete in the Blue Devils’ golf invitational. They received another championship with a team score of 398.

Individually, Sydney Erickson placed 2nd with an 89. Amber Albrecht placed 8th with a 96. Haley Dohmen shot a 106 and placed 26th. Paige Johnson placed 27th with a 107, and Samantha Svendsen shot a 113 and placed 34th.

Coach Melinda Stelling said, ”I thought they competed well. It was a tight race, and they came out on top. So far this season, we have used all five girls’ scores towards the team total. It was nice to see some girls step up with low scores contributing to the team total.”

The next golf meet will be held on Thursday, September 28, with the Mid-State golf tournament hosted at Pierce.
