FCCLA Presents STAR Projects

The Pierce FCCLA traveled to Wayne State College to present their STAR projects on Wednesday, February 1. All of the Pierce chapter members competing medaled in the top three, and Pierce will send three to state on April 2, 3, and 4.

These people placed top gold and are going to the state level: Emily Simmons in Illustrated Talk, Mason Sindelar in 1 Nebraska Event Consumer Issues, and Caitlyn Crist in Career Investigation.

Other people receiving medals included Samantha Hartman who competed in Career Investigation and received gold. Leslie Dohmen competed in National Programs in Action and received silver. Sydney Slater was in the Teach and Train category and received silver. Stephanie Rinkel and Breane Hoffman competed in Chapter Service Display and received silver. Elizabeth Harris and Rose Graham competed in Advocacy and received silver. Jessica Elsberry competed in 1 Nebraska Family Challenges and received bronze.

The FCCLA Advisor Cheryl Timm said, “I am excited for the people who tried STAR projects for first time are the ones going to state. Everyone learned a lot from their projects.”
