All State Band, Choir Selected

As winter approaches, many superb music students from Pierce High tried out for All State choir and band.

Junior Emily Lambrecht was selected to the All State choir, and senior Matthew Proffitt had the honor of making All State band on the tuba.

To tryout for All State, in either band or choir, students have to make a recording of themselves singing or playing three different songs. Then the video is sent in for judging.

For band, in addition to Proffitt, who was selected, Ethan Hanson also auditioned on the tuba. Kristin Arens also auditioned and was selected as an alternate.

In choir, Alexa Douglass, John Polt, Alex Retzlaff, and Tristel Sell also entered for the tryouts in addition to Lambrecht. Polt was selected as an alternate.

The choir student who made All State, Emily Lambrecht, said in thanks to Mrs. Teri Haselhorst, “It is a tough competition, but I believe that I couldn’t have gotten this far without my choir director.”
