Peirce High’s senior high marching band got a score of 65.5 at the State Marching Band competition in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Saturday, October, 25.
Once again, the band played their “Rock, Pop, and Hip Hop” show comprised of the songs “Get Lucky,” “Pompeii,” and “Urban.” With their overall score of 65.5, the band received an Excellent rating. There were eight total bands in the Class B competition, and all of them received an Excellent rating.
“I thought they performed their absolute best performance this season,” said band director Mike Sindt. “It was the lowest score the band has received this year, but it was also the toughest judging of the year. There were some places that needed improvement, but they did well anyway.”
The band’s competition season is now concluded, but they will play again in their holiday concert Monday, December 15, at 7 p.m. in the Pierce High gym.
