Pierce High Juniors Attend College Fair

Pierce High School’s junior class attended the Tri County Educational Planning Day held at Elkhorn Valley Schools in Tilden on Monday, October 6.
The Educational Planning Day is essentially a college fair during which students from all over the region can look at a few of their options for post secondary schools. Students were able to discover aspects such as cost of tuition and high school credit requirements for different colleges so they will be able to plan ahead for the future. The high schools that participated were Pierce, Plainview, Neligh, Elgin, Elgin Pope John, Elkhorn Valley, Randolph, Clearwater Orchard, Stanton, and Osmond.
Guidance counselor Mary Birch believes that attending the Educational Planning Day was highly beneficial for the juniors. “It gives every junior a chance to see the variety of colleges and chances they have after high school,” she said. “Most of the students get a lot out of it because they care about it and they care about what is possible for them beyond high school. It is a great way for students to think about college and see which one is best for them.”
