Pierce Football Take Down the Blue Devils
By Riley Lawrence
The stadium was filled with blue for both teams. Both fanbases brought the energy, but only one team was able to come out victorious and that team was the Pierce Bluejays.
On Friday, October 16, Konnar Jones stole the show when he ended the game with 210 rushing yards and two touchdown runs, including a breakaway 86-yard touchdown to end the second half.
“I was able to block well even though they had me with the size disadvantage. I was still able to get my blocks and set us up to score,” Keaton Olson, sophomore player, said.
In the second half of the game Pierce was up 21-0 against Wayne before adding 13 points to their score to extend their lead to 34-0. This did not last long, however, as Wayne was able to put points on the board, making the final score of the game 47-26, Bluejays win.
“I did pretty good you know; I almost had that touchdown, but we still ended up scoring that drive after Brody was able to get it to Ethan and we were able to walk away with the dub,” Burkley Collison, sophomore football player, said.
The football team travels to Central City to finish off their regular season.
