Student Council Kicks Off the Season

The Pierce High student council joined for a meeting in the commons of the high school to inform new and returning members of the upcoming year’s plans on Tuesday, August 18, at 7 p.m.
“I think it will be a great year. The students on student council are some of the best leaders in our school, and the work they do is always aimed at benefiting PHS, so I am excited to see what each of the different committees does this year,” Melissa Legate, one of the student council sponsors, said.
In the student council meeting, they did an icebreaker to get to know each other, and then they went over the constitution of the student council. Then they talked about some projects they want to do this year and events they want to host.
“I am really excited about the new committees we have planned and improving our existing ones. We have a great group, and I think we will be able to get a lot accomplished this year.” Josie Painter, president of student council, stated.
Newly elected student council members include Emmarie Grothe and Luke Bauermeister in seventh grade, Rebekah Cone in eighth grade, Lakin Prince, Maverick Krienert, and Stella Riggert in the freshman class, Callan Vogeler and Deacon Watts in the sophomore class, Kaelyn Halsey in the junior class and Jada Brummels in the senior class.
