Update: Windows and Doors for Pierce Elementary

The elementary school classrooms have new windows, but the work continues as Lincoln Glass waits to replace the doors.
The project was originally scheduled to begin right after school got out for the summer so that everything could be completed by the start of school; however, complications arose, and many of the supplies needed to replace the windows were delayed. Due to these issues, the project began in July and has continued into the school year.
“Everything seems to be a bit hard to get, and then there are also multiple companies involved…So if any one of those companies has a delay, it knocks out the whole rest of the project,” Kendall Steffensen, superintendent, stated.
Despite supply issues, the classroom windows at the elementary school have been replaced, and the doors, along with the rest of the windows, will be replaced as soon as the hardware (e.g., doorknobs, handles, etc.) arrives.
Tootie Larsen, the head custodian who has been helping the installers when needed, said, “They ran into complications when they took the old windows out, but the new ones went really good.”
The project began due to the old age of the windows and doors at the elementary school. Both items range from 30 to 50 years old and, according to Larsen, are “shot.” The same is true for the high school windows and doors as well, and next summer, Lincoln Glass will begin replacing those.
