Cheerleaders Ready to Kick into the Fall Season
by Avery Brunckhorst
As the 2026-2027 school year begins, the cheer team plans to kick off the new season bringing excitement and school spirit to the sidelines.
This year's fall cheer team includes coaches Crystal Bauermeister, Diana Kuehler, and Katie Steskal and the captains are Jada Brummels and Payton Montgomery.
“We have close to 200 cheers, dances, and expectations to memorize, and in the very little free time we have, we attend most sporting events and participate in volunteering activities to make a difference not only in our school, but also in the entire community,” Brummels states.
The team also includes seniors Brynn Schwartz, Jessica Suckstorf, Jenalee McRoberts, Maya Johnson, Jayna Prochaska, and Lauren Delka; sophomores Eleanor Bauermeister and Kennedy Johnson; and freshmen Dakota Lorenzen, Abigail Craft, Piper Underwood, and Raegan Lambrecht.
“My biggest goal this season for the team is to create a positive environment. I want us to work hard, make memories, support each other, and overall have fun,” Schwartz also states. Many of the girls and also coaches are looking forward to this season.
As the first fall games approach, the cheerleaders are ready to put in their hard work, the first football game they will be performing for will be August 28 against the DC West Falcons and the first volleyball game they will be cheering at will be against the Stanton Mustangs on August 27.
