Homecoming King and Queen and the Dance 2025

By Charlotte Enk

Pierce High School had an early dismissal and started the afternoon with a parade down to the elementary school on the afternoon of the homecoming football game, and during the parade candy was handed out, and many small children and parents lined Main Street and waved.

After the parade through town, a pep rally where the students could watch the candidates playing some games, was held at the activities complex. There was also a game that included all seniors.

The queen candidates were Abbie Cone, Emily Endorf, Mya Johnson, and Sami Painter, and the king candidates were Jax Bauer, Brenden Bolling, Brock Collison, and Kaiden Fritz.

Homecoming coronation was after the football game was held. The Bluejays scored a 42-6 win over D.C. west.

This year the winner for the king was Kaiden Fritz, who is an athlete in many sports.

“I was very excited to win because my brothers were also nominated but didn't win,” Fritz said about his win.  “But I also thought Jax would win because he's so well known. “I got no big reason, but it’s very cool to win Homecoming king.”

The winner for the queen was Mya Johnson who is very committed and participates a lot in school life.

Fritz said about her, “Mya would win this, everyone is getting along with her, and she is very friendly.”

The crown bearers were Teddy Bretschneider and Penny Legate, both preschoolers at Pierce Elementary.

The dance was on Saturday and the girls letter club decorated the Pierce auditorium with the theme of “Candyland.”

“It was very fun and the best part was dancing with the music. I tried to crowd surf but it didn’t end well. It was a hard fall and the trust is also fallen,” Aislyn Moeller, a sophomore, said on having the funniest part in the evening. Moeller said also,”I think all of the girls looked really good in their dresses and it is fun for everyone to dance in big groups”.

It was extremely hot in the auditorium but the DJ’s tried to keep everyone in with some good music and everyone was in a good mood. However, the dance ended at 10:30 p.m. with the boys letter club cleaning up all the skittles and M&M’s stuck to the ground. But the students had a good time and it will stay a highlight in their memories.
