Pierce FFA Host Chapter Banquet

By Brody Knox

The Pierce FFA chapter celebrated a year of accomplishments at its annual banquet, held April 26 at the Pierce Fairgrounds.

During the banquet, Nebraska senator Rob Dover spoke. Tinker's Catering provided Windsor loin with a side of cake, green beans, cheesy potatoes, and bread for dinner.

The 2024-2025 FFA senior officers gave their retiring addresses, and fellow senior members hung their corduroy jackets to retire from the organization.

Awards were presented, such as those acquired at district LDEs (leadership development events), CDEs (career development events), and the state FFA convention. Miscellaneous awards were distributed before degrees.

This year, the golden apple award was presented to Veronica Orona, while this year's perfect attendance award was handed to Kyle Abler, Seth Nelsen, Kaylee Olson, Orona, Lakin Prince, Evelyn Skrdla, Weston Stemick, Wyatt Stemick, and Dierck White.

The discovery star Award was presented to Emelyn Unseld.

Discovery, chapter and greenhand degrees were awarded to those selected. Discovery degree recipients this year were Eleanor Bauermeister, Prince, Benjamin Huwaldt, Corbyn Siebrandt, and E. Unseld, while greenhand degree recipients were Kinley Hilkemann, Alyvia Marks, Adrienne Riggert, Cole Snodgrass, Lillian Stern, Jessica Suckstorf, and Cayden Unseld.

This year, the chapter degree recipients were Abler, Brody Knox, Boston Krueger, Brianna Rundell, Mia Sackville, and White.

Seniors Trayton Christiansen, Olson, Orona, Alexis Sporleder, We. Stemick and Wy. Stemick achieved the FFA state degree this year.

Nearing the end of the banquet, student advisor Christiansen talked about his trip to the National FFA Convention as a member of the National FFA band, and he gave Pierce FFA advisor, Matt Neal, a gift.

To conclude the ceremony, the new officers were inducted into office, with president being White, vice president being Bailee Thelen, secretary being Alexandria Huwaldt, treasurer being Skrdla, reporter being Stern, historian being Bauermeister, and parliamentarian being Abler.

FFA officer Orona presented Neal a gift of a flag with his face on it and some salsa to finish the night.
