New Student Teacher Erin Pfeifer
By Brianna Rundell
Pierce High School has gained a new student teacher, Erin Pfeifer, in the English department.
Pfeifer grew up just outside of Madison and graduated from St. Francis High School in May 2020.
Currently Pfeifer is co-teaching 11th and 8th grade English with Mr. Weber.
She is enjoying her time at Pierce High School. She comments, “So far, yeah, it’s really good. I love the support for the staff; they have all been super welcoming and ready to send a helping hand if I have questions on something.”
Pfeifer is completing her degree at Wayne State College in English/Language Arts education with a speech endorsement. Through her time at Wayne, she has kept the English language degree because she sees great value in educating young minds.
When asked if she had any hobbies, she says, “Oh, I have a lot of things I like.” During the summer, Pfeifer loves to spend time at the lake, but in the winter, she enjoys spending time with her roommates and friends.
While at Pierce, she assists the speech team, helping at practice and judging at home meets.
What she loves most about Pierce is the community aspect and the smaller school; Pfeifer feels she can connect better with her students in a smaller community than in a Class A school.
Pfeifer has loved English all through high school. The way her English teacher instructed her had a notable impact on her.
Pierce High welcomes Pfeifer and supports her on her teaching journey.
