“We’re playing our best at the right time,” head coach Zach Weber comments. “The girls have worked hard for 12 months for the opportunity they’ve earned, and we’re definitely seeing that work pay off. I’m proud of their accomplishments and am excited to see what they can do in Lincoln.”
The first set’s score was 25-17, starting the match off strong for the Bluejays. Pierce then put together an impressive second set, finishing 25-13. In the third and final set, the Lady Jays pushed through and finished 25-22.
Not only did the Lady Jays post outstanding scores, but they also notched other milestones. Weber achieved his 100th career win the victory over Ogallala.

“Saturday showed that all of our hard work this season is paying off. We went into the game with a game plan and a goal, and we executed really well! We had a lot of energy during the game and kept attacking, and that gave us an edge against Ogallala. I’m really excited about going to state and playing with my team in such a great atmosphere,” comments Scholting.
The Lady Jays will compete at state this week.

“We came out pretty strong in the first set, and got a little worried on that second set, but honestly I knew it was going to turn out well for us, and we really pulled through,” announces Hadley Wragge.
Pierce volleyball coach Zach Weber states, “I thought we did a lot of good things, I think we saw though that teams can be dangerous when their backs are against the wall, Boone Central played us really really well, I thought they put together a really good match, they were very aggressive and did a really good job at throwing us off our game a little bit.”
The Lady Jays had their work cut out for them, but with that Bluejay pride, they pulled through. “I am proud of our girls the way they settled down and settled into the games and started to play how we know we are capable of playing and obviously handling business there in the last two sets,” states Weber.
