Pierce Boys Golf Places First at Mid-State

The Pierce boys golf team came away with the gold by finishing with a 395 team score, and edging out Battle Creek by two points to finish first out of nine teams in the Mid-State Conference Tournament on Saturday, April 24, at Fairplay Golf Course.
Coach Rick Adams says, “I was extremely proud because we won the tournament. We had three guys shoot better than 83, them being Hunter, Chaden, and Travis, which is exceptional good scoring. We’re very excited looking forward and hoping to improve.”
For individual placings, Hunter Raabe scored best for Pierce placing second with a 79, with Chaden Roth right behind Raabe in third place, shooting a 79. Also placing for Pierce was Travis Emory in sixth with an 83. Abram Scholting shot a 94 for 25th place and Tyler Race shot a 99 for 31st.
Senior Chaden Roth comments, “The conference golf tournament Saturday was our best score of the season for the team, and hopefully we can keep it up for the rest of the season.” Head
The varsity boys have an invitational Saturday, May 1, at the Pierce Community Golf Course.
Boys JV Golf at Osmond

The Pierce JV boys golf team finished fourth place with a team score of 391 at the Osmond golf meet on Saturday, April 24.
Sophomore golfer Dalton Svoboda states, “I think the team did very well, but I also know that there is still much room for improvement.”
Senior Trevor Pettitt and sophomore Jacksen Wachholtz both finished with a score of 92.
Kelton Anderson shot just above his teammates with the score of 98. Next was Dalton Svoboda shooting a 109. Finally, Camden Jansen ended with the score of 119.
Assistant coach Grant Doerr said, “Overall I thought the boys played well. It was exciting to see three scores in the 90's and everyone improved from a week ago.”
The next meet will be the Pierce Invitational home meet at the Pierce Golf Course on Saturday, May 1.
Golf Team Places Second at LHNE

The Pierce boys golf team traveled to the Lutheran High Northeast golf invite at the Norfolk Country Club on Thursday, April 22, and the team finished with a second place finish.
Head coach Rick Adams states, “At the Lutheran High invite the conditions were very challenging. Overall I was pleased with our 2nd place finish. The guys learned a lot about playing in the wind.”
Senior Hunter Raabe was the highest placer for Pierce earning a fourth place finish with 87 points. In ninth place, Chaden Roth shot a 92. Travis Emory shot a 95, with Abram Scholting following close behind with a total of 97 points. Tyler Race shot a 104.
Senior Raabe states, “It was a tough course, and we didn’t adapt well. We will still have some time to improve this season.”
The boys varsity golf team will compete next Saturday, May 1, at their home invitational at the Pierce Community Golf Course.
Bluejay Golf Competes in O’Neill

The junior varsity boys golf team trekked to O’Neill on Thursday, April 22, and ended the meet with an eighth place finish out of 13 teams competing
Head coach Rick Adams states, “At O'Neill, we sent our JV players and they played well, defeating several varsity teams.”
Senior Trevor Pettitt earned a 15th place finish with a total of 94 points. Pettitt states, “I think we played well on Thursday, and my teammates and I improved from last meet. There is still a lot of season, and we are hoping to improve every meet.”
Following Pettitt, Jackson Wachholtz shot a 103 and Kelton Anderson shot a 105. Sophomore Dalton Svoboda shot 110 and following Svoboda was Camden Jansen with a total of 113 points.
The boys golf team will compete next Saturday, May 1 at the Pierce Community Golf Course.
