Rustic Romance: Prom Edition
by Autumn Lambrecht
Friday night, March 19, the juniors and seniors busted a move on the dance floor at their prom. The prom theme this year was decided by the junior class, and they picked “Rustic Romance,” and included decor such as mason jars on the tables for centerpieces.
The dance was held at the White House in Pierce.
The night was quite entertaining when a dance off was announced. The girls faced off against the boys, and included McKenna Shonka, Payten Simmons, Kenzie Moeller, Callie Arnold, and Alle Koehler for girls team, and Michael Kruntorad, Matthew Christensen, Zachary Price, and Trevor Pettitt for the boys team.
The girls swept up the win, and junior Payten Simmons says, “I think the dance off was the best part of the night. Everyone was super involved, and it got super competitive. It was hard to do a lot of moves in our dresses, but we got the job done. I really enjoyed busting down on the floor during the dance competition we had. I wouldn’t have traded the experience for anything.”
Senior Tanner Kuper says, “Prom was a good time. I’m super glad we, even with COVID, were able to have a regular prom. It was all I had imagined. The juniors did a great job setting it up and making sure it was perfect. The servers did a great job making sure everyone was happy.”
The dance was followed by post prom at the YMCA, where the juniors and seniors were able to hang out, enjoy games, and relax after a long night of dancing.
Senior Kailey Marks says, “Since some of us didn’t get to have a prom last year due to COVID, it was really fun to get to experience this during our senior year. The theme the juniors picked out and put together was greatly chosen for a good time. Reflections also had a photo booth there that was a very fun addition to the dance! Post prom was also very fun because there were multiple fun activities we could play and get tickets to win prizes. Thank you to all that helped making this prom awesome!”
